Trebuchet MS Font was designed by Vincent Connare for Microsoft Corporation in the year 1996 and is a humanist sans-serif font. That is why the font’s name can be translated as trebuchet, a medieval military engine. Additionally, this name came about because Connare was asked at Microsoft headquarters: Is it Possible to Design a Trebuchet that will be Able to Throw a Person from the Main Campus to the New Consumer Campus which is Approximately One Mile Away? ”
Of course, mathematically speaking, is it possible to do that? That is why Connare suggested this name for their font that spawns word phrases on the Internet. It was used in Windows XP and was available in three different themes, namely, window titles, window captions and menus in Trebuchet MS. Microsoft also published Trebuchet for free as one of their core web fonts; up to the present, this font is among those most often used for the body text.
