Marriott Font was founded by American businessmen Frank Kimball and John Willard Marriott in 1927 when they purchased and renamed a grocery stall called Hot Shoppe for grocery sales. Within one year they expanded by adding catering operations; later on, this venture shifted into the hotel industry in 1957 before transitioning into a hotel chain in 1970 when its name changed to Marriott Corporation.
Host Marriott Corporation and Marriott International were successful until 1993 when they split apart with Host Marriott Corporation handling real estate matters while HoReCa services eventually transitioned over to what became Marriott Hotels & Resorts.
The Marriott logo symbolizes two linked areas of business: the company’s restaurants and hotels are both highly popular, enjoying an esteemed standing in the marketplace due to their convenient locations, superior comfort levels, and outstanding services.
