Century Gothic Font is a derivative of Monotype 20th Century, designed by Sol Hess between 1936 and 1947. While maintaining the basic style of the 20th Century, Century Gothic features an increased x-height for improved output from the digital systems of today. Additionally, its style draws heavily upon geometric sans serif fonts popular during the 1920s and 1930s and heavily influences them when applied in print media for advertising or headline purposes.
Century Gothic now encompasses 14 weights as part of a Pan-European character set ranging from Thin up to Black as well as their italics.
