Nimbus Sans L Font is an Adobe source font variant created in 1987 that utilizes five weights and two widths – including Nimbus Sans L Extra Black which only comes as a condensed roman format.
Nimbus Sans L is an additional subset released under GPL in 1996 and AFPL for Type 1 versions as well as LPPL in 2009. These fonts may be freely licensed through URWPlus.
Nimbus Sans L shares similar metrics with Helvetica and Arial fonts; indeed it’s one of Ghostscript fonts, an assortment of no-cost alternatives to the basic 35 PostScript Fonts which includes Helvetica.
